Question: What Plans or Resolutions or Wishes Have You in Mind for 2010?

Feel free to recap 2009 in your comments. I'm always glad to hear of people's accomplishments.

But please also talk about what you would like to see happen with you and your fabric work in 2010?

Which shows do you want to enter? What's the goal you'd like to achieve or the technique you'd like to master?

Here's a quick tip list of things to know before entering a contest info supplied by HGTV.

And here are a few shows and contests that may be of interest. I'm looking for a coprehensive list of major exhibits and shows and contest and events, so if you know of one, please let me know. Or if you have any to contribute to this list, please do!

And I apologize to Sharon Boggon for not mentioning the photograph of her gorgeous diamond crazy quilt, shown here. For more of Sharon's work, visit her website.

Thanks,
Dawn

I don't have ANY desires to enter any shows, but my goal for the new year is to use more of my fabric & to finish some long lingering projects.

I'd like to lose some weight, yadda, yadda, yadda too.

I'd like to focus more carefully on my sewing projects, not attend lots of workshops and dabble in various new things.
I am seriously thinking about entering a quilt show but don't know if my work is good enough.
Oh yeah, world peace and firm thighs too xxx

My goal is to have completed a series of 5 art quilts by Oct 1, 2010. First step: decide on a concept or subject matter by the end of this month!

Love your goals. If you figure out the firm thigh thing, let me know, Lis! And I like the idea of focus. I need some!

And keep us up to date on your successes with your resolutions. Can't wait to see your series, Suzan

And let me know how the weight loss goes and what your secret is! As your stash diminishes, your UFOs get finished and you get skinnier in 2010 -- Sounds like a vanishing act for the Cheshire rather than Calico Cat! :)

Good luck with all!

I'm planning on entering a quilt in the MQX show in RI. I've never entered a large show like this before.
Another goal is to be more focused on what is important to me-family, friends, my business. Oh yeah-I'm going to improve my hand applique too. :)

Specific goals like that get done! Excellent Eileen! I can't wait to hear of your success. I don't think you're alone with the focus on family, friends and your business. When times get tough we tend to find our way to what is truly important. And hand applique sounds like good therapy, too.
